my grandpa finally sold his 65 El Camino and it left early this week. So with a empty space he went out in search of his next flipper car to make some money on. Ended up with this sweet little 34 Ford Pickup. It's a steel can with glass fenders, 4" chop, shortened box, 327 small block chevy, and the real plus.....4 speed tranny. It's a clean truck that needs a little tlc. Biggest sore spot is the dash. The handmade dash looks terrible but already have picked up a original pickup dash. Truck is for sale as is though.
I hope to get a few better pics soon, plus I want to get a few of this pickup next to my 33 ford pickup.

minus that terrible art, which I assume was painted on by an unattended middle school drop out with autism . I don;t see whats wrong with that dash.

no, the original wood is long gone, it has a metal bottom someone made. If it doesn't sell at the portland swap meet in a couple weeks then we are going to put a wood bed in

My dad built it over the course of a couple years and finished it the year I was born (1983 - yikes). We have a pretty large collection of antique domestics, some original, some street rods, but the Model A is earmarked as "mine" as soon as I get the garage space for it. Man, I'd love to be able to cruise it on weekends! It has a rumble seat! Problem is we just bought a house with a 2-car garage and we already own 3 cars lol. I should've bought a house with less bedrooms and more garage bays. #jalopproblems

that's the way it is with my 33 ford pickup, my grandpa built right before I was born and I've grown up in it. These two pickups are the oldest in the fleet, the we have 2 tri five Chevys and the 2 camaros

Very cool! I love the old pickups - to me they have more character than a lot of street rods you see. My grandfather had an early 50s chevy pickup for a while that was the same color as the 34 ford in your pics. It was a kind of an odd build though and he didnt keep it long. When you pick up someone else's project sometimes it takes a lot of work to make it your own. Hopefully you guys can have a little fun with that 34 before she goes to her next home!

well see how long this lasts in the garage. I'm a little torn on it because I have a huge soft spot for 32-34 fords but I'd like to start restoring their 55 chevy bel air. They have had it now going on just over 40 years and it has sat for too long now

Ooooooooh! We have a 55 bel air, known as "bunny," which is all original. It's the robin egg blue paint with the white rear. You should probably get to work on that project, the 55 chevy is hell of a car. At least around us I think the 32-34 fords are significantly more common than the bel air.
I guess you can't go wrong either way. Seems like you have a lot to choose from - and all of it is awesome =)
